Project Overview

PAINT Philadelphia was called to Maple Hill Dr in Blue Bell, PA to complete a focused carpentry project that restored tired interior woodwork without changing the home’s existing color palette. Rather than a repaint, our goal was to repair, refinish, and tune up key architectural details so they look crisp and perform well for years. The work centered on window components, door trim, and detailed interior casing—areas that see constant use and deserve a craftsman’s touch.

Scope & Surfaces

From the photos, the priority surfaces included:

  • Bay window assembly: window stool/sill and apron with natural wood, plus surrounding painted casing and mullions.
  • Doorway and jambs: small gouges and edge wear along painted jambs and stop moldings.
  • Interior trim & beadboard panels: light repairs where everyday life had nicked corners and seams.

We carefully removed failing caulk, lifted loose paint edges, and corrected minor substrate movement. Damaged profiles were rebuilt with wood-based fillers where appropriate, then block-sanded to a dead-flat plane to preserve sharp reveals between wall, casing, and stops. On the bay, we tuned joinery at inside corners, eased sharp edges by a hair to resist future chipping, and reset any proud fasteners.

Craft & Finish

Because the homeowners wished to keep the existing look, no new color was introduced. Painted trim was spot-primed after repairs and finished to match the home’s crisp white trim, ensuring seamless transitions. The bay window’s natural clear-coated stool was cleaned, abraded, and layered with a durable clear finish for a warm, glass-smooth sheen that highlights the grain while resisting moisture and sun. Final steps included precise caulking lines, reinstalled hardware, and a meticulous clean-up.

If your home needs careful carpentry—from window sills and casings to door jamb rebuilds—PAINT Philadelphia delivers craftsmanship that blends in perfectly and lasts.
