Project Overview
PAINT Philadelphia completed a whole-home interior painting refresh on Midvale Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19129. The homeowners wanted brighter circulation spaces, a welcoming entry, and a kitchen that felt lighter without a remodel. With no specific products requested, our focus was careful protection, smooth prep, and crisp, durable finishes that respect the home’s classic millwork and wood floors.
Colors & Surfaces We Painted
From the photos, we carried a soft, clean white through the foyer, stair hall, and living areas to amplify daylight and spotlight the original banister and doors. In the kitchen, we paired white walls with pale sage/green-gray shaker cabinets to freshen the perimeter and complement the dark countertops and slate floor. Trim, windows, and door frames were finished in bright white for a sharp, gallery-like edge.
Surface types & areas:
- Drywall/plaster walls in the foyer, dining, living room, and kitchen
- Ceilings throughout for an even overhead plane
- Windows and trim, baseboards, crown, and wainscot caps in enamel white
- Interior doors and frames for a like-new profile
- Kitchen cabinets (doors, drawers, face frames, crown, kick plates) finished in pale sage
Prep, Process & Results
We began by protecting floors, rugs, appliances, and hardware. Nail pops, small cracks, and old fastener holes were patched and sanded; glossy trim and cabinet fronts were thoroughly cleaned and scuff-sanded for adhesion. We caulked fine gaps along casings and baseboards to eliminate shadow lines and spot-primed all repairs so the final sheen reads even in both natural and artificial light. Walls and ceilings were brush-and-rolled for a uniform texture; doors, frames, and cabinets received smooth coats that leave shaker rails and panel profiles crisp.
The transformation is immediate: the clean white opens hallways and frames the stained front door beautifully, while the pale sage cabinets create a calm, modern kitchen that still feels classic. Every doorway reads sharp, stairs feel brighter and safer, and the entire first floor ties together with a cohesive palette—another tidy, long-lasting interior painting project by PAINT Philadelphia.
