PAINT Philadelphia recently completed an inviting interior painting update for a contemporary home in Philadelphia, PA. The goal was to brighten a long, gallery-style hallway and unify the connected living spaces while keeping the art and finishes the star. Products used: none specified.
Color & Surfaces We Painted
To achieve a calm, modern backdrop, our team selected a soft greige as the primary wall color—warm enough to feel cozy, light enough to reflect the recessed lighting and natural daylight that pours in from the far end of the space. The ceiling was cleaned and a light, neutral tone applied to visually lift the room, and the existing white trim was refreshed to create crisp lines.
Surfaces included:
- Drywall walls along the hallway and adjacent living areas
- Ceilings with recessed can lights
- Wood trim and moldings, including crown, baseboards, and door casings
- A textured feature column near the kitchen seating area, carefully brush-and-rolled to preserve the wave pattern without clogging the relief
Our prep focused on tight caulk lines at the crown and base, minor drywall skim work where the art had been rotated, and gentle sanding on the textured column to preserve the peaks. Even with no specified products, we followed our standard best practices for adhesion and a smooth finish.
The Finished Look
The new greige instantly ties together the light wood flooring, modern fixtures, and bold artwork. The refreshed white trim frames each doorway and panel with sharp contrast, while the soft ceiling tone keeps sightlines open from the kitchen to the seating nook. The corridor now reads as a calm spine for the home: art pops, plants stand out, and the entire area feels brighter and more connected without feeling stark.
Whether it’s a single hallway or a whole-home refresh, PAINT Philadelphia approaches interiors with care for color harmony, surface protection, and a polished final result that lets your furnishings and decor shine.
