Project Overview
PAINT Philadelphia completed a clean, light-lifting interior painting refresh for a classic rowhome on Spruce St, Philadelphia, PA 19103. The homeowners wanted the long entry corridor and stairs to feel brighter and more welcoming while keeping the wood accents and glass transom as focal points. With no specific products requested, we focused on protection, precise prep, and an even finish that holds up to daily traffic.
Color & Surfaces We Painted
From the photos, the primary wall color is a soft warm white/light greige—bright enough to open the space, gentle enough to complement the dark slate tile and stained wood door. Ceilings and trim were finished in crisp white to frame the architecture and bounce light down the hall.
Surface type & areas:
- Plaster/drywall walls in the foyer, main hallway, and stair run
- Ceilings, including narrow passages with multiple light fixtures
- Wood trim and moldings: baseboards, door casings, crown details, stair stringers
- Interior doors and frames, refreshed for a uniform, like-new profile
Prep, Process & Results
We protected floors, stair treads, and glass panels, then repaired nail pops and hairline seams for smooth wall planes. Trim gaps were caulked to eliminate shadow lines; glossy surfaces were scuff-sanded so topcoats lay flat. Spot-priming locked in repairs and ensured the final sheen reads even under hallway lighting. We brush-and-rolled walls and ceilings, refined cut lines along crown and panel breaks, and finished doors/frames to crisp, clean edges.
The result is a brighter, more connected first level. The warm white/greige calms the long corridor, white trim sharpens every opening, and the original wood at the front door now stands out beautifully. This Spruce St interior painting project delivers tidy lines, durable coverage, and a welcoming entry that sets the tone for the rest of the home.
